Introduction week learning!

I have a love/hate relationship with the first week of class.  I love it because I am usually pumped about starting a new class and all of the new things that I will get to learn throughout the semester.  I hate it because I often feel overwhelmed when I look at the assignments that are due and everything that I will need to do to do well in the class as well as learn somethings.  I read the article about keeping a journal and decided to format mine in a similar pattern so that I can see what I am learning and checking things off my list that I want to be learning.
Lessons Learned:
Since the class is just starting my lessons learned is fairly small.  I really enjoyed reading the articles that were posted about being a good student and truly learning the material rather than just taking the classes that will keep my GPA up.  I believe that as I read through these articles that I was inspired to try a little harder to truly learn the material.
I also really enjoy the introduce yourself discussion board for multiple reasons.  First of all, I love to show pictures of my amazing family and talk about them because they are everything to me.  Second I love to see the diversity of the students taking these online classes.
I think the video of President Hinckley was my favorite thing this week.  It helped me to remember who I am and what I can do.
Lessons Not Yet Learned:
There are a lot of things that I would like to learn in this class.  As I have started to read "The Start up of You" I have realized that I would really like to learn about how to truly market myself and my skills.  I am a stay at home mom but I still have skills that can be useful and I would like to be able to find them.  I would also like to learn the skills to help my husband find them as well, so that we can either start our own business or so he can market himself a little better for future jobs.  I am sure that as the class goes along I will see more clearly the things that I would truly like to learn.
